Final deadline is Oct. 15.Dental clinic named for Tulsa firm after big donationDentsply Tulsa Dental Specialities donated $300,000 to a University of Tennessee Endodontics Clinic in Memphis as the College of Dentistry at the university's Health Science Center opened the new state-of-the-art endodontics clinic earlier this month.The Dentsply Tulsa Endodontics Graduate Clinic is named in honor of major contributor Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties, which gave the money to support the educational mission of teaching future endodontists at UTHSC.The clinic embodies a total digital operatory with custom endodontic carts, digital radiography and endodontic practice management software designed to simulate the contemporary endodontic practice.The clinic is a major step for the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics at the College of Dentistry.The program received initial accreditation in 2011. Computers will be available on site for applying online to participating companies.Tribe's business arm buys rights to Rex's ChickenMuscogee Nation Business Enterprise purchased the rights to expand Rex's Chicken within the major eight counties of the Muscogee Creek Nation (MCN) tribal jurisdiction, company officials announced last week.MNBE says it plans to implement the Tulsa-based Rutkauskas family's restaurant chain into the design of its existing and future travel plazas. MNBE CEO Woody Anderson sees it as a great opportunity for the Muscogee tribe."Our plans are to create Rex's Chicken initially into our travel plazas," he said. "Right now we're doing some strategic planning and designing for new upgrades or new travel plazas and hopefully designing travel plazas for the future, and we want to be able to add the Rex's Chicken to our operations there."Founded in 1951, Rex's rebirth came when David Rutkauskas, Rex's Chicken CEO, obtained the rights in 2007 and opened a location in Tulsa in 2008.
